The calibration of sunphotometers for the 2024/2025 season is currently in progress at the Lulin Calibration Platform. So far, seven instruments, including those from APAC and partner institutions, have been deployed in two phases. A third phase of instrument deployment is still pending.
The direct sun calibration of sunphotometers is conducted at the Lulin Calibration Platform, a remote background site chosen to minimize the influence of urban emissions. This ensures high-precision calibration. During the process, measurements from field instruments are compared with those from a calibration master to verify accuracy. Up to five instruments can be calibrated in the platform at Lulinsimultaneously.
