Training

APAC provides comprehensive training programs for the maintenance, data analysis, and visualization related to the AERONET network at the regional level. The maintenance training covers essential procedures such as proper installation, regular cleaning, troubleshooting common issues, and performing routine diagnostics on Cimel Sunphotometers to ensure the instruments remain in optimal condition. In addition to maintenance, the center offers detailed training in data analysis, teaching participants how to access, interpret, and utilize AERONET data effectively. This includes understanding key parameters like Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD), Angstrom exponent, and inversion products. For data visualization, trainees learn techniques to plot and analyze aerosol data, as well as methods for integrating ground-based measurements with satellite data for validation purposes. Through these programs, APAC builds local capacity, ensuring that scientists, technicians, and researchers across the region have the skills needed to maintain the network and use the data for air quality monitoring and climate research.
